    Position Description

    This role is focused on the creation Data Quality intelligence in a Fortune 50 financial services firm, in support of the business driven enterprise data governance initiative. The Data Quality Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for leading and executing activities involving identifying the appropriate business and technology stakeholders for the Business Data Elements assigned in a given project or initiative by working with the sponsors of the project. Within the scoped project the Data Quality Intelligence Analyst will leverage the Data Clairvoyance methodology and tools to identify, analyze and score the Business Data Element in context. This role will execute the process for communication with stakeholders, data profiling, quality assessment and quality rule design. In addition, this individual will support the Senior Data Quality Intelligence Analyst in the data quality assessment review workshops, which are workshops designed for the affiliated stakeholders to contribute views and perspectives on the profile and data quality assessment results. Training and education on our methodology and approaches will be provided as a part of the on boarding process. The Data Quality Intelligence Analyst is the responsible party for executing data quality and data profiling aspects of the process described above. For each critical system or physical asset (i.e. RDBMS, Flat File, etc.) that are associated with a given Business Data Element. The process can range from between 10 and 30 stakeholders at any given point of the lifecycle and may involve Architects, analysts, business stakeholders, mid-level management and line level business experts.

    Primary Objectives

    • Participation in Data Profile Analyses
    • Contributions for Data Profiling and Data Quality Work Sessions
    • Execution of design, define, implement, consolidate and refine the outputs of Data Profiling and
    • Data Quality Work Sessions
    • Development of data quality rules based on requirements collected from the review workshops
    • Mapping data quality rule outputs to the defined enterprise data quality metrics for aggregation, and testing the associated outputs for accuracy and precision
    • Validation and execution of quality metrics, observations and outcomes to both leadership and core team members
    • Participation in presentation of data quality outputs and data profiling results

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Must be able to work independently
    • Participation in small core teams
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Strong profiling skills (must be able to create profiles with the assistance of a data profiling toolset and manually in SQL)
    • Experience with Visio, Sharepoint and MS Project
    • Experience with at least 1 Data Profiling toolset
    • Commitment to a consulting lifestyle including extensive travel
    • Ability to lead meetings on your own
    • Prior consulting experience is a plus
    • Exposure to the following: Cloudera, Hadoop, MongoDB, Teradata
    • Exposure to the following a plus: Informatica, Tableau, R, Octave, Spotfire, Qlik, Birst

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science or mathematics
    • Insurance or Financial Services experience is desired
    • Six Sigma preferred (Green Belt at minimum)
    • 3+ years experience in an data profiling and/or data quality role is required
    • 1+ years experience with a data profiling toolset
    • 3+ years experience in data environments
    • Knowledge of tools to query and manipulate data in varying file formats
    • Knowledge of referential and large data formats and file structures
    • Ability to apply the principles of data quality standards
    • Knowledge of databases, included big data technologies
    • Knowledge of programming and software development lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Investigation using data quality analysis software to manipulate and research data in flat files
    • Able to effectively and efficiently work with an enterprise environment involving very large data sets - millions of records in both databases and flat files
    • Able to work within a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities
    • Broader Financial Services industry experience preferred but not required
    • Must be a fast learner and willing to learn independently
